Steve Tilston And The Durbervilles - 2012 release on Splid Records from well established/respected singer/songwriter/guitarist Tilston who joins forces with Yorkshire-based folk, roots, Alt Country quintet The Durbervilles, whose collective resume includes working with Jude Abbott and Neil Ferguson (Chumbawamba), Clive Gregson (Any Trouble) and Fairport's Ric Sanders, to revisit 4 of Steve's songs and one from the Durbervilles' repertoire presumably to have something to sell at their periodic live gigs. Enjoyable stuff played and sung flawlessly and with obvious enjoyment by the participants;

Liz Carroll - brand new release from American Irish fiddle goddess aided and abetted by stellar cast of fellow musicians - nothing more need be said!;

John and Sheila Ludgate - 4th release from this Burlington, Ontario song writing award winning husband and wife duo augmented by 4 sons who all play various instruments; arrangements range from acoustic through full on folk-rock and has a spirit of Woodstock and echoes of John Lennon in sentiment;

Brooks Williams - latest release from Statesboro GA-born, now Cambridge UK-resident, master guitarist, mellifluous singer and songwriter equally at home with blues, Americana singer-songwriter or traditional fare, here with 7 tracks left over from his recent full CD Everything New! Left overs?! Joined by Sam Sweeney (Bellowhead/Fay Hield Trio) on fiddle, Andy Seward (Kate Rusby Band/John Tams) on double bass, Keith Angel (Kate Rusby Band/John Tams) on drums, and Rowan Rheingans (Lady Maisry/The Rheingans Sisters) on banjo - left overs never sounded so good!;

The Railsplitters - a Kickstarter-financed debut cd from Colorado-based 2 time major music contest winning bluegrass/nugrass/Country quartet (with a hint of ELO in the discreet background!) with superb solo and harmony harmony vocals, instrumental command and fluidity performing mostly original material to which all the members contribute and a very lovely cover of the late Randall Hylton's Room At The Top Of The Stairs;

Burning Bridget Cleary - wonderfully dexterous and melodic award winnning Pennsylvania-based quartet, currently 2013 nominees in the "Top Traditional Group in a Pub, Festival or Concert" category in the Irish Music association's annual awards, who began life as a father/daughter duo of Lou and Rose Baldino who borrowed Rose's friend Genevieve at short notice to fill a gap at a festival when the featured performers were unable to make it... featuring traditional/contemporary and excellent original compositions and superb harmony vocals; tonight tracks from their second CD, released back in 2008, which clearly has the signposts for the excellence of their subsequent releases but somewhat marred to these old ears by an intermittent faux pronunciation on Saucy Sailor, for example, that is distracting;

The Cantrells - making their Little Rock Folk Club debut Jan 4th 2014, Nashville-based NPR favorites Al and Emily Cantrell bring their acoustic folk, blue grass and old-time music, with detours into Celtic and Western Swing, featuring soaring vocals, guitar, mandolin and fiddle;
