The Willows: "The Willows are a folk band from Cambridge, UK. Their first album Beneath Our Humble Soil was nominated for Best Debut in the Spiral Earth Awards 2014, and has been championed by the likes of Bob Harris and Mike Harding. The much anticipated follow-up Amidst Fiery Skies, co-produced with Sean Lakeman was released to critical acclaim, with The Telegraph hailing it "a triumph" in a 5-star review and a place in their folk albums of 2014. Fronted by the breathtaking vocals of Jade Rhiannon, supported by rich vocal harmonies and dynamic acoustic musicianship the band take influence from folk traditions on both sides of the Atlantic."...  Artists' website

Threepenny Bit: "are a unique example of how traditional dance tunes and contemporary sounds can blend together into a totally fresh interpretation of folk music. This raucous 8 piece band combines a group of diehard folkies with some of the finest young jazz and classical musicians in the south. Their arrangement and orchestration are a truly unique addition to the genre."... Artists' website

Couldn't agree more :-)

Karine Polwart: Scottish singer and wonderful songwriter... "Her debut album Faultlines won three awards at the 2005 BBC Folk Awards, including Best Album. Its follow up, Scribbled in Chalk (2006), contained “Daisy”, a gentle word to the wise to one of life’s givers and truth-tellers who can’t quite comprehend that “there are people in this world who don’t think like you do”. The song won Polwart another BBC Folk Award for Best Original Song in 2007." ...Artist's website

Norman Blake: multi-instrumentalist American guitar icon with an impressive CV incorporating folk, traditional and progressive bluegrass, country, rock and involving a veritable who's who of American musicians along the way. " For Blake's fans, Wood, Wire & Words (his first recording of all-original pieces since 1974's Fields of November) sounds like the album he's wanted to make for decades. For those who love American folk music but are unfamiliar with his work, there has never been a better argument for making this a starting place and moving backward."... Thom Jurek Allmusic.com

Flashpoint: "is a trio of young musicians performing contemporary folk music rooted in the traditions of Ireland and Scotland. With a sound that is both sophisticated and spontaneous, they put on a stirring live show that is engaging to a variety of audiences." Artists website

They will be making their Little Rock Folk Club debut on Sat Feb 7th 2015.

Tom Pacheco: 22nd release from this largely, indeed criminally, unknown American singer/songwriter from New Bedford MA who is better known to European and Scandanavian audiences. During a US tour in a 10 year period of living in Dublin, Ireland he played a concert in Little Rock around 1990 that was quite masterful.

Tom Lawrie: Scottish singer with invisible carbon footprint!
